Music, Samples, Kontakt, Podcasts, Fonts, Mac, iOS, Graphics, Animation are in Part A. This part continues with Video, Development, AI, Social Media, Training, Promotion and Media Consumption.
If you’ve landed here via a search, this is part B of Tool Much Fun issue 32.
Video
Flixie
This group claims it’s “The fastest way to finish a video”. They want you to do your editing in a browser, so I assume they are aiming at smaller-sized social media videos. Features include Subtitles, translation, text-to-speech, video-to-text, upscaling, screen recording and removing umms and pauses.
FordeeTV Tempo Marker
A free tool for Final Cut Pro for adding a tempo track to your timeline.
KeVinci Presets
Effects for Davinci Resolve, including Shake, Zoom, Blue, Lens Distortion and Object highlighting. More are on the way.
Xangle Apps Camera Server
When you need to control multiple cameras at once, try this one. It supports Canon, Sony, GoPro, iPhone, Android and Picam, and they claim it can handle over 1000 cameras.
Dadan
A full-featured video platform. You record, then edit with optional AI-based silence removal and transcription , then add interactions like polls. After publishing you can track views and engagement with analytics tools. It can hook in to over 30 other services like Asana, Trello and Jira. They welcome comparison with options like Loom, Zight, Screenflow and Tella.
Digital Anarchy
A selection of plugins for After Effects, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Avid, and Davinci Resolve. They include a skin cleaner tool called Beauty Box, Flicker free, Sharpener, Light wrap, Data Storyteller for animating charts and maps, and ShotNotes for adding notes and links to the timeline.
Fred Pëlle CRT
Effects Plugins • Fred offers CRT, VHS Super8, and retro computer emulators, photocopied/laster printer grunge, lo-fi, saturation and military/infrared looks.
Development
PixelRAG
“The end of web parsing. The beginning of scalable pixel-native search.” But what does that mean? Normally when you give an LLM a website it looks at the text, but can’t necessarily “see” the images as well. This thing takes a screenshot of the whole page and works with both the text and images simultaneously. Direct GitHub link.
Helix Editor
Here we have a text editor inspired by Kakoune and Neovim. It is available for many Linux distros, and Mac users can use Macports to get it installed.
CuteCanvas
An open-source graphics editor package for PySide6. So you can add this to your application if you need to add image editing to it.
Zed
Text Editor • Mac, Linux and Windows users can all use this text editor designed for collaboration with both humans and working with AI development systems.
AI
Move AI Genesis
This is a motion capture solution that can capture up to 8 people. It does need a high-end GPU and camera. A large budget will be required.
Textguard
This is one of those AI detection tools you may have heard about. It also offers a plagiarism checker, grammar checker and “citation machine”. Paste in text or upload a file to be checked.
Kalit
This says it uses “every top model” to build a website, or use their penetration testing or SEO optimization features for existing sites. You can also check out:
Emergent
This one can also produce websites via prompts, but it says it can also make mobile apps.
Serus
“Transforming Privacy Forever” This one is all about security and privacy.
Krea
They claim to be the “world’s fastest frontier image model” but then for video they hook in to Seedance, MiniMax H3 Max, Gemini Omni Flash, Kling, Veo 3.1 Lite and Flux 3.
Flora
Flora is for images, and they claim to use all the “top models”. You can do image to video, image upscaling, sketch to render, relighting, layout resizing, create mockups, and turn 3D renders into video.
BoodleBox
Collaboration site • Multiple users and multiple AI bots can coexist in one group chat. This one can tap into over 38 models so you, and your team are all on the same page using AI. It also hooks up to Slack. Features include role-based permissions (editor, viewer, admin), live multiplayer AI prompting, and automatic tagging/summarizing.
Colibri
This one is for running downloadable models locally. They offer two languages models, suck as DeepSeek, MiMo and Qwen, and three decision making models Laya, GLiNER2.5-Decide and Clef. I hadn’t heard of those, I’d only heard of Jev.
InfraNodus
“AI text analysis and insight tool for research and exploration” but what does that mean? This is about using it to draw knowledge graphs, which are great for visually- oriented people. You can upload text, PDF, CSV and “spreadsheets” (does that mean .XLSX?) Youtube links, Google search results and more, then have it analyze it for you.
CosyVoice
This is a text-to-speech system that covers 9 common languages.
AI Development
Linear
“The system for product development” So this is another in a growing segment that is a customized AI for developers that can do things like take your team collaboration chat and turn it into actionable todo lists.
Whacka
“Say it. Ship it. Use it.” is their slogan. Let's face it, a lot of apps boil down to relational databases with the information presented in various layouts, including standard features like data entry and search. This system claims to be able to build these simple types of apps based on prompts. Examples include scheduling, booking, logging, leaderboards, and others for clubs and communities.
Display Dev
A system for collaborating on development work using your agents, no more downloading and sending copies of things to one another and merging them.
Paioclaw
“Secure OpenClaw in 60 seconds”
Social Media
Atlas
Yes, it’s another thing named after the famous character from Ancient Greece. This one is for viewing a 3D map of the conversations occurring on Bluesky. Interestingly, I couldn’t find a cluster about general creativity software, which could explain the low traction I get on that platform.
CutNoodle X Circle
See who you interact with most on X (Twitter).
Planable
Promotions teams, like others, need a customized platform to coordinate their campaigns. Planable is designed to make it easier to see who is posting what when, to Facebook, X, Linkedin, TikTok, Youtube, Pinterest and so on.
Threadflow
A web app for scheduling Threads posts. Currently in beta and free. I’m a bit cranky with Threads at the moment because they closed my account down with no warning. Make sure you back up your content regularly.
Training
I have run out of time so this is a linkdump for now:
Brian Calli Music Books
Puremix Fab Music Production
Compose Legendary Video Game Music Challenge
MyGroove Instrument Lessons
An app for iOS and Macs for learning Drums, Bass, Guitar, Piano, Keyboard and Singing.
Frontend Masters
92learns
Promotion
Songport
A few options for handling how the same song appears on multiple streaming platforms have arisen over the last few years. Songport seems designed to do one song, rather than the other options for bands doing promotion, where you link to the actual band.
Gater
Gater is essentially a multi-streaming-platform link generator. It includes analytics to see how many people clicked on your song link.
Media Consumption
Mensola
Here we have a social app for making playlists of both movies and music that you are supposed to share with your friends so you can all find out what you’re watching and listening to all in one place, not in IMDB, Spotify etc. Apps are for iOS and Android.
A native Spotify & Apple Music player.
Another app for Mac and iOS that lets you enjoy the Apple Music streaming service without having to use their 1st party software.
Albumary
Your Apple Music library as a record store. For those of you who are nostalgic.
Stoic Player
A video player app for Mac that claims to support HDR video better than any others.
That’s all I have time for this issue. It’s been a tough slog. There are tons of new things being announced daily. Hopefully this blog helps you find something that makes your work easier to do or makes it better.
